Post subject: gtk-recordmydesktop freezes and crashes everything

anybody using this ? as soon as i start it, then i get huge lag spikes (like 5-10 seconds) and when i try to click X or Quit, it takes ages and finally says not responding and i have to click force quit. what could be problem for this ? i tried googling, but there's not much info about gtk stuff at all. i only found one topic where somebody said that it lags while recording (which is obviously his shit video card).
